STORIA

The Cà MONTALBANO was born as a company on 1981, from the leftovers of what was an important rural construction belonging to 1767. During approximately 250 years, the walls of this house secretly guarded stories bound from the love for the land, the hills and its fruits but especially for the simplicity and strength of ancient and wise gestures.
These fundamental old values conduced to a rediscovery, a reborn of this old "tower" and during so many years, that decadent 1767 building rebirth, becoming today Cà MONTALBANO Company, preserving the historical name.
The Company arises on the first lovely Brisighella's Hills, on an hill dominating "Via Valletta", a road linking "Fognano" and "Zattaglia": two small towns inside the Brisighella County.
Its strategic position, completely at the sun for the whole day, creates right conditions and potentiality to the olive and grape cultivation, typical productions of Cà MONTALBANO, which belongs to the Brisighella territory generally  speaking.
The secular olive grove produce a very delicate, refined and high quality extra virgin olive oil in two versions on the basis of the olive's variety: Nostrana of Brisighella (with its irreplaceable smell-taste characteristics), Frantoio and Leccino.
The vines extend at 300\400 Mt. on the sea level and we cultivate "Sangiovese", "Cabernet Sauvignon"as for red wines, "Chardonnay" and "Albana" as for white wine.
The Production is divided into red wines: Sangiovsese, Sangiovese D.O.C., Sangiovese Superior, Sangiovese Superior Reserve and Cabernet Sauvignon; while for the white ones we produce Chardonnay and Albana (this last one represents the only D.O.C.G. recognized on our region).
The very low acre output exalt the products uniqueness characterized by strong contrasts, like the land and the peoples of this territory.
